Jordan Soper JOINS 5 Under Golf
5 Under Golf Center is pleased and proud to welcome Jordan Soper as our new Head Golf Instructor and Pro Shop Manager. He joins 5U at a wonderful time of growth and activity in our golf store, indoor Topgolf Swing Suites, and outdoor driving range with Toptracer technology.
See below for details, photos, and more.
Soper is well-known in the Southeast Texas golf community as a 5-time winner of the Beaumont City Golf Championship and a former standout 2-sport athlete (golf and baseball) of Beaumont West Brook High School.
He will lead the golf sales and service team for custom club fittings, club repair, swing lessons, golf camps, and sportswear/golf equipment sales. His experience, insights, and joy for the game will be a treat for customers of any and all skill levels.
Owner of 5 Under, Don Shaver, says that Soper’s success on the course combined with his sales and service background will be an asset for golfers looking to improve their game.
“Jordan is a great player and it’s easy to see that he loves golf,” says Shaver. “But he’s just as passionate about customer service and helping people, and that means a lot to us at 5 Under.”
Soper played for Sam Houston State University and now joins a strong retail team including other former college and high school golfers who do it all from club repair and re-grips to club fittings with Titleist, Ping, Callaway, and other industry-best brands along with a broad inventory of apparel and sportswear.
With the company’s variety of equipment, depth of training aids, and the indoor-outdoor dynamic of Toptracer Range and Full Swing technology, Soper says he is excited to put all the tools to use.
“This is such a unique facility for learning golf or taking your game to the next level.” he says. “I’m grateful to be in this industry and work with this team, and I’m eager to continue the momentum of 5 Under.”
Jordan says he is excited to get involved and teach others. 5 Under has a rich history of teaching golfers of all ages including our junior golfers kids camp—which Jordan will be coaching week one. From these camps or even individual lessons, 5 Under has seen many young golfers grow and improve to become high school and college golfers.
5 Under’s technology and unique venue is ideal for informative lessons in a comfortable atmosphere. Indoors or outdoors, golfers choose 5 Under to get instant feedback, extensive training, and personal attention. Parents can watch from a short distance in our comfy lounge seats with food and drink so it makes it even extra convenient for those young beginning golfers.
5U President, Lance LaRue, says Soper is a competitor through and through, and he has the pedigree to help invite new golfers get excited and get into the game while also addressing the needs of seasoned golfers who want strong expertise.
“Instantly recognizable is Jordan’s friendly personality, his sales and service experience, and his ‘people skills,'” says LaRue. “Golfers will enjoy picking his brain about clubs or how to hit a stinger…just enjoy talking golf with him.”
Jordan has a background in technical service, customer service, sales training, account management, and —yes—golf.
Jordan founded the Fellowship Golf Tour—a local Christian nonprofit men’s group that combines faith, fellowship and golf. The organization is in its fifth year providing purpose as an alternative to the traditional golf tour.
Jordan and his wife, Emily, have two children and are active in the Fannett community.
5 Under of Beaumont welcomes Jordan Soper to the crew for fun, flavors, and friends all in the name of golf!
