5 Under Golf Center’s Alex Anderson Earns Top “40 Under 40” Honors
5 Under Golf Center is thrilled and proud to share the good news that our very own, Alex Anderson (General Manager), has been named to the list of “40 Under 40” honorees for 2024 by the Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization.
The prestigious list recognizes top professionals in the Southeast Texas area comprised of seven counties. In collaboration with the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, The Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization (SETXYPO) honors a list of forty recipients each year, noting key areas of distinction including excellence in the career field, service, and community involvement.

The “40 Under 40” honors the brightest young stars of business, service, nonprofits, and more in the region.
Notable attributes include expertise, professionalism, influence on the community, and positive representation and contributions to the future of Southeast Texas.
Ask any of the staff or longtime customers of the restaurant and bar at 5 Under Golf Center, and they’ll tell you that these describe Alex to a TEE!
Alex Anderson of Beaumont, Texas joined 5 Under Golf Center first as Bar Manager. 5 Under was just getting off the ground, very new and generating buzz for being a fun, unique concept unlike any other in the area.
With Topgolf and Toptracer golf technology and equipment, the recreation and play side of operations was set. The restaurant and bar needed expertise and direction.
With Alex’s experience at popular hotspots like Lupe Tortilla, Luke’s, and J. Wilson’s bar and restaurant, he was instantly a great match.
"Alex is a team player and has such a winning personality... when he came on board, he immediately helped 5 Under grow and flourish," says CFO, Helen Wade.
In 2023, Alex was named Assistant General Manager, where he helped establish new processes in the restaurant and executed big events for companies here at 5 Under.
In early 2024, he was appointed to the role of General Manager over all of food and beverage at 5 Under. Since then his versatility, leadership, and supportive communication have contributed to remarkable growth in revenue and operational efficiencies—making food and beverage the most improved line of business in the last 9 months.
5 Under has garnered great accolades during Alex’s time in these roles — winning first place at Taste of the Triangle, making headlines in Houston and Beaumont newspapers for the new menu release, a FSR Magazine article, BBB Torch Award for Ethics, and Small Business of the Year Award with the Chamber of Commerce.

About Alex
Alex graduated from Kelly Catholic High School and went on to earn his college degree at Baylor University.
He has put his talents to work for the Rodair Club, Madison’s, and many fine restaurants over the years. Through his work, he has found ways to support and serve countless community nonprofits and organizations such as the Lamar Institute of Technology Foundation, Julie Rogers Gift of Life, American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink, The Neches River Festival, Catholic Charities, and the Chamber of Commerce — just to name a few.
His knowledge, his passion for service and quality, and his ability to connect with people help make a huge difference here at 5 Under Golf Center.

In 2013, the SETXYPO and the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce launched its first ’40 Under 40′ honors program. With 11 years in, the goals remain to shine the light on the best and brightest young professionals in the Southeast Texas region.
The SETXYPO serves young business and nonprofit professionals to connect, network, and develop. The mission of recognizing and championing the future of Southeast Texas continues for academics, careers, economy, and activity in the community. Former honorees can be seen here
The reception for ’40 Under 40″ was held Tues, November 12 at the Event Centré in Beaumont. Friends, colleagues, and family celebrated with a great ceremony. 5 Under Golf Center extends a hearty congratulations to Alex and all the recipients. The future looks bright in Southeast Texas!
