Big Night for ACS’s Men Wear Pink

American Cancer Society Hosts Biggest "Men Wear Pink" Night Yet at 5 Under Golf

To kick off the month of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, the American Cancer Society of Southeast Texas hosted the annual Men Wear Pink event at 5 Under with great success.
 
5 Under Golf Center in Beaumont was the setting for quite a scene Thursday, Sept 26th. Men ambassadors for the ACS brought family, friends, and colleagues out to the biggest golf and entertainment venue in Southeast Texas to start things off with a bang. With appetizers, cocktails, and tons of support, folks got to enjoy an evening of fun as well as education, encouragement, and fundraising.

The event started off with big fanfare with the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Beaumont. The ribbon cutting was momentous as it featured a great speech from Mayor of Beaumont, Roy West, and followed by fun introductions and lots of smiles. Guests were given some education, some information, and opportunities to mix and mingle in the most delightful weather this fall for Beaumont.

Guests of the Men-in-Pink Ambassadors were treated with passed appetizers from 5 Under including our pretzels and sausage bites and our wildly popular Fried Green Tomatoes with white cheddar pimento cheese and savory bacon jam. A hit all around!

Guests also enjoyed a timely happy hour full of specials from 5 Under’s expert bartenders. Just recently voted BEST HAPPY HOUR by readers of the Beaumont Enterprise, our 5 Under appetizers, draft beers, and cocktails were a hit with folks — especially our spicy jalapeno margarita. Word got around fast to folks who were in the know about this rising favorite at 5U.

With all upstairs and downstairs bays (20 total), guests hit golf balls, played golf games, and casually competed as they wished while mixing it up with others. Visitors enjoyed the convenience and ease of scanning in a QR Code to made donations to different ambassadors along with sensational raffle prizes.

The ACS has hosted this event the last three years at 5 Under in Beaumont, and this was the largest turnout yet! Kathy Chessher, Terri Potter, and the volunteers and staff of the ACS were magnificent in arranging, organizing, and coordinating with everyone. The event was decorated with the most creative elements to include information, excitement, and personal touches for a warm, engaging evening.e

” We really love supporting this event as it is near and dear to many of us here at 5 Under,” says Helen Wade, CFO. “To entertain our friends, to raise money and get information out, and to see the growth of this event is just marvelous…we’re so glad to play a part in this.”
